Reading 2s travelled away to Peppard on Saturday 10th August for their last game of the season in the traditional format. Reading won the toss and elected to bat first. Peppards opening bowlers bowled tightly and consistently however, they were unable to strike early as Reading notched up an opening stand of 50 as Pav and Ishan saw off the new ball. A slight middle-order collapse and some decent spin bowling from Peppard resulted in Reading finishing on a par first innings score of 173, stand in captain Pav finished on 74 which proved vital in the end. Peppard came out strong in a similar fashion to Reading with a 50+ opening stand before Moin got Reading their first breakthrough thanks to a brilliant catch from Ali at short mid-wicket. Immediately after Yawar was introduced into the attack and continuing from his brilliant form picking up 6 wickets last week, he continued to pick up wickets at regular intervals not allowing a partnership to build, finishing with unbelievable figures of 9/36. Almost single-handedly bowling out Peppard. Peppard finished all out on 156 falling 17 runs short in a thriller of a game.
